Coveting:

This shirt.

Also, this one.

Ahahahaha.

In addition, this was actually true of my last employment situation.

If you were hoping for a real post, I will have to write one when I am not so sleepy and ill-prepared to construct cohesive sentences.

Job Update

THE GOOD NEWS

I really like this coffee shop job (CSJ). It's stress-free and fun. And I get to be as social as I want, generally without that people-overload feeling you get when you are in relationship-based jobs like I've been in the past. I will have to tell you all my funny stories one of these days.

THE OTHER NEWS

I didn't get the other job. At this point is anyone surprised? Anyone at all?

Overheard at the beach

Three scantly-clad teenage girls are laying on the hot sand perusing some photograph-saturated celebrity magazines.

SCTG1: Umm, what does ornate mean?
SCTG2: (Looks bewildered)
SCT3: (With great confidence) It means cluttered.
SCT2: But not in a bad way. In a totally good way.

Oh my word. Perhaps if adolescents read real literature with real words the world would be a better place.

So good to see you again

WELCOME BACK

  • My dear, loverly sunshine and all the dry Vancouver heat you bring with you. I love Vancouver summers.
  • All my homies who jetted off for the long weekend. You missed a weekend of hot sun, cool jazz, and general merriment. And fireworks. Which you could have totally seen from my balcony if you were in town.
  • Gainful employment and the warm fuzzy feelings I have when I am out in the real world interacting with real people. Oh, did I forget to mention I started work this week? Not real work, just a coffee shop job. But, you know, I like it. True, I do start at work at an hour when the only other people who are awake in the city are nursing mothers and other baristas. But, who can complain? It just means that I can effectively go to work with my sleepy eyes on and no one will care or even notice until a good three hours into my shift when the rest of the world starts to stir. Brilliant.
  • Real employment opportunities. Tune in next week to see if I got the job I've been interviewing for over the past few weeks.

~g. mango owes you a pony. well, maybe half a pony. you'll get the other half if i get this other job.
