Greenery
Today was overcast in Vancouver for the first time in weeks and as a result I was one giant lump of unmotivation, which I am not even sure is a word. I spent the better part of the day in bed recovering from one lovely night of camping at Sombrio Beach, four days on the island, and two weeks with my small sister. Not that any of that really needed recovering from, except maybe the camping trip.
Anyway, as a pick me up, Small Sister and I made some pasta with green things. Green things almost always make me happy, and this summer I've purchased a half of a CSA share that ensures that I've got greens spilling out of the fridge and into every dish I make.
If I were a food blogger I'd give you a detailed recipe, but as I am just regular blogger who likes food, here's a short list of the green things that went into it:
homemade garlic scape pesto
arugula
parsley
squeeze of lime
homemade basil pesto on the side (which, truthfully is kind of blackish on account of its homemadeish nature)
And the non-greens were:
some romano,
a bit of butter,
s & p,
a dash of milk
--
And here's what it looked like.
If you want some green things, you know where to find me. And now you know what I am doing with my days and nights.
~g. mango is always greener on the other side
